NSF Announces Small Grants for Exploratory Research
In light of the recent hurricane Katrina, the Human and Social Dynamics priority area (HSD) announces that it will accept Small Grants for Exploratory Research (SGER) proposals. (For additional information about SGER proposals, see the Grant Proposal Guide, Section II.D.1.)

Researchers interested in submitting SGER proposals to HSD should contact one of the following Program Directors, PRIOR TO SUBMISSION, to discuss their ideas.

The 7th Annual International Conference on Digital Government Research is a forum for the presentation and discussion of interdisciplinary research on digital government and its applications in diverse domains. Interested participants are invited to submit research papers, system demonstrations, posters, and proposals for tutorials and workshops for dg.o2006. Learn more

NSF Initiates Comprehensive Strategic Planning Process
NSF's Cyberinfrastructure Council has initiated a comprehensive strategic planning process to guide the agency's investments in cyberinfrastructure - the IT-based infrastructure increasingly essential to progress in science and engineering. The agency’s plans are being developed in a document entitled NSF’s Cyberinfrastructure Vision for 21st Century Discovery.

NSF invites community comments on the current draft of this document, which is available at http://www.nsf.gov/od/oci/CI-v40.pdf .
