The eChallenges e-2004 Conference and Exhibition takes place in Vienna, Austria, 27 - 29 October. This is the fourteenth in a series of Annual Conferences supported by the European Commission, which regularly attracts over 500 delegates from commercial, government and research organisations around the world.

The International Programme Committee (IPC) for e-2004 is now inviting extended abstracts (800 - 1,200 words) for technical papers, visionary papers and business case studies. Proposals to arrange tutorials or complete workshop sessions are also welcome. Related themes and suggestions for papers and sessions are outlined in the Call for Papers. Ê

This year's conference themes include eBusiness, eGovernment, eWork, eEurope 2005 and ICT Take-up by SMEs, and International Collaboration. e-2004 will also feature an Exhibition and an attractive Social Programme for delegates, speakers exhibitors and partners, to enhance networking opportunities at the Conference.

e-2004 will provide a forum to showcase the achievements of FP5, eEurope 2005 and Regional, National and International ICT related initiatives, and look forward to the future by focusing on the thematic priorities of FP6. The European Research Area (ERA) and research priorities and trends for the future will also be discussed.

Abstracts must be registered by 29 February 2004 on the Conference Portal and guidelines for paper structure is provided online.

Workshop proposals must also be registered by 29 February 2004, as outlined here. Each workshop proposal should be supported by a minimum of two paper abstracts per workshop session, which will be double blind reviewed by the IPC.
