Abstract:
Type 2 diabetes is epidemic in the native populations, Navajo and Hopi, in Northern Arizona. Through this proposal a partnership would be developed with the community, the local Indian Health Services, and Northern Arizona University researchers to address this problem through the use IT. This proposal would explore the collection an integration of various data from medical devices such as glucometers, provision of information using wireless devices and PDAs, test various user interface concepts, and identify multicultural barriers.
